Chicago Build 2026 is coming to McCormick Place October 28–29, and Everwood Processing is bringing architectural wood processing to the show floor. Visit us inside the Tolutions Supply exhibit at Booth #1228 to see wood species, finishes, fastening systems and fabrication capabilities up close—and talk directly with the people who work with these materials every day.
For architects, builders, contractors, lumber dealers, designers and homeowners planning a premium wood project, this is an opportunity to move beyond photos and specifications. You will be able to see and feel real material samples, compare finishes and profiles, discuss project requirements, and explore how Everwood Processing can help turn premium wood into installation-ready architectural components.
Visit Everwood Processing at Chicago Build 2026 — Booth #1228
Chicago Build 2026 returns to McCormick Place on October 28–29. The event is expected to bring together more than 30,000 construction and design professionals, 350+ exhibitors and hundreds of speakers, making it one of the Midwest’s largest gatherings for the architecture, engineering and construction community.
Everwood Processing will be part of a much larger Tolutions Supply presence this year. Booth #1228 is being designed as a hands-on destination where visitors can explore building materials, architectural wood solutions, cabinetry and contractor-focused products in one place.
The booth will showcase Everwood Processing, Tolutions Supply and Vantier Cabinetry, along with representatives and products from multiple manufacturers and vendors. A Lunawood representative is also expected to be available, giving attendees an opportunity to learn more about thermally modified wood and its use in contemporary architecture.
See Shou Sugi Ban Wood Finishes in Person
Shou Sugi Ban is highly visual, but photographs rarely communicate the full character of a charred wood surface. Grain, texture, burn depth, brushing and finish all affect the final appearance.
At Chicago Build, we plan to showcase different wood options and finishing approaches for Shou Sugi Ban wood processing. Visitors can compare the texture and character created by controlled charring and discuss how species selection, profile, exposure and finishing affect the finished architectural surface.
For architects and designers, that means a better understanding of what can be specified for exterior cladding, soffits, ceilings, accent walls and other architectural applications. For lumber yards and dealers, it is an opportunity to see how Everwood can add processing value to premium wood before it reaches the jobsite.
Explore Wire Brushing and Factory Finishing
Texture can completely change how a wood species presents in an architectural application. Everwood Processing offers wire brushing and factory finishing to create more dimensional surfaces while helping projects achieve a consistent finished appearance.
Wire brushing selectively removes softer portions of the grain, emphasizing the natural structure of the wood. Depending on the material and desired appearance, it can create anything from a subtle tactile finish to a pronounced architectural texture.
Combining controlled processing with factory-applied finishes can also reduce field finishing and help create greater consistency across a project. At Booth #1228, visitors can discuss wood selection, texture, color and finishing strategies for both interior and exterior applications.
See How GRAD Hidden Fastener Systems Change Wood Design
One of the most important systems we will be discussing at Chicago Build is GRAD precision milling and hidden fastening.
GRAD uses precision rails and clips with compatible profiled boards to create architectural wood surfaces without traditional face-fastening. The result is clean detailing, consistent spacing and, in appropriate assemblies, removable boards that can simplify access and serviceability.
The system is relevant well beyond residential decks. GRAD solutions can be incorporated into decking, cladding, walls, soffits and ceilings, giving architects another way to design uninterrupted wood surfaces while addressing installation efficiency.
Everwood Processing is an authorized GRAD milling and manufacturing partner, allowing us to precision-profile compatible materials for the system. If you have been considering hidden-fastener wood decking or cladding, Chicago Build is an excellent place to see how the system works and discuss whether it fits your project.
Custom Profiling: Turning a Wood Specification Into a Buildable Product
A premium wood species is only the beginning. Many architectural projects require specific dimensions, edge details, grooves, relief cuts, siding profiles or fastening geometry before material is ready for installation.
Everwood Processing provides custom milling and profiling to help bridge the gap between design intent and field installation. Instead of asking installers to solve every detail on the jobsite, more of the preparation can be completed in a controlled production environment.
This capability is particularly valuable for architects, builders, manufacturers and lumber dealers working with repeatable profiles or specialty architectural details. Bring your project ideas, drawings or material questions to the booth. Our team can discuss what can be milled, finished and prepared before delivery.
Custom Laminated Beams for Architectural Wood Projects
Everwood will also be showcasing its custom laminated beam capabilities. Our production capabilities include laminated beam fabrication up to 22 feet, including common 4×4 and 6×6 configurations as well as custom requirements.
Architectural beams can become a major visual component of pergolas, outdoor structures, commercial spaces and residential designs. By combining fabrication with wire brushing, finishing and other processing capabilities, Everwood can help coordinate multiple steps through one production partner.
For builders and dealers, that can mean fewer handoffs. For architects and designers, it creates more freedom to think about beams as an intentional architectural feature rather than simply a structural-looking component.
Meet Lunawood and Explore Thermally Modified Wood
We are especially excited to have a representative from Lunawood joining the broader booth presence. Lunawood produces thermally modified wood for façade, interior and landscaping applications. According to Lunawood, its thermal modification process uses heat and steam without chemical preservatives and is designed to improve dimensional stability and durability.
Thermally modified wood continues to gain attention among architects and builders who want the warmth of real wood with performance characteristics suited to demanding architectural applications. Having product representatives and Everwood’s processing team together creates a useful opportunity to discuss both the material itself and what can happen after the material reaches our production facility—profiling, texturing, finishing and project-specific preparation.
More Than an Everwood Processing Display
Booth #1228 will be much more than a wood-processing exhibit. Tolutions Supply has grown into a broad building-products resource, and Chicago Build gives us the chance to put many of those products in front of contractors, architects and construction professionals at the same time.
Visitors will also be able to explore Vantier Cabinetry, Tolutions’ cabinetry program, along with a range of products available through Tolutions Supply. Representatives from multiple vendors are expected throughout the show, giving attendees access to product knowledge without having to make separate stops or calls after the event.
Why Lumber Dealers, Architects and Builders Should Stop By
Everwood Processing is built around a simple idea: premium wood becomes more valuable when it arrives prepared for the way it will actually be used.
Our Lombard, Illinois production operation brings multiple capabilities together under one roof, including Shou Sugi Ban, wire brushing, factory finishing, GRAD milling, custom profiling and laminated beam fabrication. We can work with material supplied through our network or, depending on the project, customer-supplied material.
For lumber dealers, that creates an opportunity to offer customers value-added architectural processing without building those capabilities internally. For architects, it provides a processing partner that understands how material, profile, finish and fastening interact. For builders, it can reduce jobsite steps and create a more installation-ready product.
